Meatballs are the most versatile use of the ground meats, in my humble opinion. Meatballs come in about a billion different varieties, they freeze well, you can put sauce on them…what’s not to love? The only potential downfall is most include some kind of bread product as the binder. Not so great for those cutting carbs or who need to be gluten-free. This is my recipe for grain-free low- carb Italian Style Turkey Meatballs.
This recipe is really easy and only requires a few ingredients. It makes a bunch so I like to assemble the full batch and freeze the extras (raw), but you could cut this recipe in half as well if you need less. Essentially you just throw everything in a bowl and mix. I feel hands work best for mixing meatballs, but use a wooden spoon if you think that’s gross.
Try not to over mix, be gentle with your meat (and get your mind out of the gutter). Then roll into about 1-inch balls and bake. I shoot for 32 meatballs but it could make less if you like bigger balls (seriously…grow up).
Also, the Italian seasoning is really the only ingredient in this recipe that makes these meatballs Italian Style. You can definitely leave that out or swap it for other spices to change up the base of this recipe. So just get nuts and start pairing these balls with your favorite sauce!
